If Campus Closes, Learning Continues …

Distance Learning at The Stanley Clark School provides a nurturing and collaborative academic environment for students at every grade level.

In the event that we are unable to meet on campus for an extended period of time, our students may engage in Distance Learning guided by our highly-qualified faculty in ways that continue to reflect the mission of the school.

Direct instruction, as well as engaging hands-on learning, provides students with both support for mastering new concepts and reinforcement. Students may engage in both synchronous and asynchronous learning experiences. Led by our classroom teachers, students take part in regular instruction and class interaction through Zoom meetings, receiving feedback and guidance on assignments and projects.

Ensuring that a Stanley Clark education continues in age-appropriate ways is our goal regardless of whether we are on campus or not.

Distance Learning by Division

Early Childhood

Teachers at the Early Childhood level provide rich and engaging activities mirroring what students would experience on campus. Activities are designed to continue our Reggio-Emilia inspired engagement at home.

Early Childhood families access activities via our online Distance Learning Grid, a simple, centralized location for weekly assignments. Topics of highest priority appear in green, with a variety of additional ideas and activities provided should your child desire even more engagement or enrichment. Hyperlinks for additional resources are provided within the grid, for easy and convenient parental access.

Students in preschool and kindergarten typically meet twice a week in Zoom meetings for instruction, enrichment, songs, stories, calendar, and other activities.

Early Childhood Student During Distance Learning

Lower School

Teachers at the Lower School level provide instruction to strengthen grade-appropriate skills while also laying a foundation for new concepts. Regular Zoom meetings with faculty and classmates allow for peer interaction, group discussion, formative or summative assessments and engaging activities. Faculty may screen share with students, allowing for remote teaching through the use of various online tools.

Lower School families access assignments via our online Distance Learning Grid, a simple, centralized location for weekly assignments. The grid is organized by subject and topics of highest priority appear in green. A variety of additional ideas and activities are provided should your child desire even more engagement or enrichment. Hyperlinks for additional resources are provided within the grid, for easy and convenient parental access.

Middle School

Teachers in the Middle School provide students with daily instruction via Zoom introducing new concepts, reinforcement, clarification of assignments, formative or summative assessments, and engagement with peers on a consistent basis. Faculty may screen share with students, allowing for remote teaching through the use of various online tools.

Distance Learning reflects the consistency of on-campus scheduling by providing meeting times for every subject. Typically, middle school classes are in session from 9:00-11:45 AM, Monday – Thursday. From 11:45 AM – 3:45 PM students break for lunch, physical activity and time to work on assignments. At 4:00 PM, students meet with advisors to connect with classmates and discuss topics pertaining to their social and emotional needs.

Middle School students continue to access class assignments through MySchoolApp or Google Classroom, already traditionally used for middle school assignments throughout the year.

In addition to regular Zoom class meetings, Stanley Clark faculty are available via email throughout the week and will respond to questions or concerns within 24 business hours. In addition, faculty are available for individual Zoom meetings on Fridays, 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM per student or parent request. Faculty are available to answer questions, clarify assignments, or provide feedback on student progress.
