Middle School - Student Leaders

Giving students leadership opportunities helps them develop critical thinking skills and the courage to share ideas or discover something new!

In fact, approximately 70 middle school students participate in distinct leadership roles each year, in addition to opportunities to lead within the classroom. These students have chosen to join a committee or group that impacts their school community.

Middle School Leadership Opportunities

The Gathering

Our 1st-4th-grade students grow in leadership by serving as role models for younger students and developing their presentation skills. Each Friday, different 4th-grade students take turns leading The Gathering, a division-wide meeting to wrap up the week. They present news and updates, achievements, and birthdays to the entire lower school.

Leadership Lunches

4th-grade students are invited to join Lower School Leadership Lunches, a group of service-minded students who seek to make an impact on their school community and beyond. This voluntary group meets over lunch each week to brainstorm, plan, and implement ideas that reflect our core values and positively impact others. As the school year progresses, students in younger grades are invited to start participating as well.

Early Childhood

Tiny Tiger Time

Our preschool and kindergarten students have an opportunity to serve as leaders throughout the year during Tiny Tiger Time. This weekly morning meeting brings the entire early childhood division together to learn from each other. Each week, a different classroom leads the gathering, and students might share about their Reggio study or something new they’ve discovered. This opportunity to stand before a group to speak empowers even our youngest students to begin developing presentation and communication skills, encouraging persistence and inviting deeper engagement as they grow more confident over time.
