Jason

Meet Jason

He came to Stanley Clark as a kindergartener, is a member of the soccer team, and loves being involved with Science Olympiad. In fact, he placed 1st in Invasive Species during his first ever Science Olympiad meet in 5th grade and has been hooked ever since. He’s also competed in Solar System, Disease Detectives, Fossils and Herpetology. He medaled in the State Science Olympiad Competition last year in Solar System.

In his spare time, Jason enjoys video games and jumping on his trampoline. “I also enjoy fishing with my dad. Every summer, we go with my dad’s side of the family out on a charter to do deep sea fishing in St. Petersburg, Florida.”

Future Career Ambitions

“I want to be a paleontologist. When I was five years old, I started reading dinosaur books and really liked them. I’ve studied a lot about fossils in Science Olympiad and volunteered at the fossil museum at Notre Dame with Ron Hellenthal (Director of the Museum of Biodiversity). We got to sort through all sorts of fossils. I hope to do that again next summer as well.”

Favorite Field Trip

“I liked the Chicago trip in 6th grade. Going on the trip was fun because I got to hang out with friends and went to see the zoo. I love zoos.”

How Jason Describes Clark

“It is a friendly and welcoming environment.”

Favorite Part of Going to School Here

“All my wonderful friends.”

Favorite Teacher

“I like Mr. Hunter and Mr. Phillip because I love history and they're funny.”

Favorite Class Project

“We recently did a project in history where we had to create an imperialist country from scratch, make up a constitution and how the government worked and then give details of to how it was imperialistic.”

What Makes Clark Special?

“How we learn in a fun way. We focus more on projects and are involved with what we learn. We do projects that are out of the ordinary and make us want to learn.”
