Charlie

Meet Charlie

He came to Clark in middle school as a 5th grader. “It was a lot different from my previous school, but people were very inviting and it was fun here. I feel like I made friends quickly.” He likes playing guitar and watching movies. At Clark, he participates in soccer, basketball, golf, and the middle school plays. “I’ve done a lot of stuff at the South Bend Civic Theatre for four years now. I was part of the Civic Youth Company for three years, have done theatre at Clay High School and United Youth Theatre. My favorite role was at the Civic when we did “Lord of the Flies” and I played Sam.”

Unique Fact

“I’ve never broken a bone.”

Favorite School Activity

“Speech Team is my favorite. I always compete in humor so I get to do stand-ups.”

Future Career Ambitions

“I probably want to do something film related like directing. My dad is a film professor so I’ve been around film stuff most of my life. I used to make old Lego movies and I’ve been trying to make skits with my friends.”

Favorite Field Trip

“I enjoyed the Chicago basketball trip. I got to spend a lot of time with friends.”

How Charlie Describes Clark

 “One big happy family.”

Favorite Part of Going to School Here

“My favorite part is probably the people. The students are really nice and the teachers are really cool.”

Favorite Class Project

“I enjoyed You Town in Social Studies because I learned to work as part of a team. As a group of four, we researched what makes a society work and then got to build our own city in Minecraft. We learned a lot about how cities and societies work and the needs people have.”

Favorite Teacher

“My favorite teacher Mr. Hunter because he is funny, smart and really supportive. He is my basketball coach, history teacher, and advisor.”

What Makes Clark Special?

“I think how inviting everything is … I know a lot of people who have transitioned here. The work is hard, but you can understand it, and I think that’s a great quality in a school. “
