Mission Statement

"We inspire each student to find a joy of learning through a comprehensive journey rooted in excellence, igniting limitless potential."

Welcome from the Head of School

Welcome to The Stanley Clark School! As you enter our doors, you’ll feel the Clark Mission Statement come alive right in front of you. Our mission is not merely a collection of words; it is embedded into each moment of our school day, some more visible than others, but all purposeful and with impact. When sharing about our school, I find myself revisiting the mission statement's words and phrases, as it truly captures who we are.

We inspire each student to find a joy of learning through a comprehensive journey rooted in excellence, igniting limitless potential.

A joy of learning is intentionally stated because we believe that lifelong learning and deep engagement are possible when joy and learning are paired together. That doesn’t

mean we don’t encounter challenges in our learning, or that we don’t embrace failing forward as a means to growth. It means we capture engaging lessons and projects, and joy is discovered through the learning process.

A comprehensive journey rooted in excellence is a hallmark of a Clark education. Our four pillars, Academics, Arts, Athletics, and Character, are supported by a wide range of co-curricular classes, including Art, Band, Choir, Strings, Drama, Library, Technology, Robotics, three World Languages, and PE, which are integral to a Clark education. Enriching experiences such as our cross-divisional buddy program, flex periods, Speech Team, Science Olympiad, a no-cut policy in middle school athletics, over 70 annual field trips, and a commitment to daily recess are further examples of what makes the journey at Clark even more special.

Igniting a limitless potential is the crescendo of our mission. Whether in our preschool or 8th-grade classrooms, and everywhere in between, our faculty and staff deeply believe our students have limitless potential, and with the right connections, challenges, engagement, and support, they can reach heights beyond what is imaginable.

Living the Clark mission would not be possible without embracing our independence and leveraging it in a way that helps us breathe joy into our learning, devote systems, structures, and dedicated time to the comprehensive journey, and utilize curriculum designed by Clark teachers so we can be nimble and meet each student where they are at on their learning journey.
